Day 126 A busy week

Folks, it's 41 degrees out here.  So much for a nice warm Summer.

It's going to be a busy week.  The mast is to go up on Thursday.  Not sure that is going to happen as there are still lots of things that have to be done before that can be accomplished.  The "Stem Fitting"(holds the anchors as well as the bog wire that holds the mast up at the bow) still has to be installed.  With out that, nothing will happen.  The mast has to be painted and left to cure.  Mark--boat yard foreman--and I inspected it yesterday.  I had already seen it but acted innocent.  The booms paint job is really BAD.  Looks like they ran into a sawdust storm after applying the paint.  It will have to be redone.  The mast looks like it has not been painted at all.  It is still covered in plastic.  True, it is only getting a touch up here and there, but it still has to cure.  Both of these things can put us to a stop.  IF that happens, I'm not sure when the riggers can get the crane back as they made reservation two weeks ago and with them having been gone for the past two weeks, I'm sure there are lots of people that will be needing their services.

Jack--the electrician--came to Zephyr yesterday and spent about 6 hours working on her.  He got more done yesterday--no interruptions--than he has in the past week--lots of interruptions.  We are getting closer.  Still no interior lights but he says that is just because he hasn't found a ground at the engine.  He rewired lots of the 110 power yesterday.  Lots of new bigger wire and new connections.

I buffed bronze and sprayed clear anti foulant paint on the propeller.  I'm not about to spray black paint on such a beautiful piece of bronze.

Other than taking a great shower and having lunch at the incredible Chinese restaurant, it was a stay out of Jacks way day.

GOD it's cold.  I'm going back to the boat.  Oh, by the way,for the person that made a comment on the blog yesterday, we put in a "Select Comfort" mattress.  We're just not sure we are at the right pressure setting.  Further adjustments will be necessary.  Thanks for the comment.
