We spent yesterday putting things away again. Up rooting things to take them to the storage shed made quite the mess. Tracy had had us nicely organized and I tore it up. Now we are back to stowed for the trip.
We waited out the big winds we had yesterday in favor of today's much better forecast. OK, Mother Nature had the last laugh--IT SNOWING!!! Lots of it. On the dock and on the deck! Get out the shovels!!! Tracy looked out the port hole this morning and said "it's foggy". I got up and looked outside--no--it's not fog, it's snow. Sure hope it doesn't last. We plan on being out of here by 9:30 to pump out the tanks and then out into the cold wild snowy yonder.
Here's the grand unveiling of our new hatch!! The first coat of varnish is still tacky 36 hours after I put it on so no second coat went on last night. It is supposed to dry for 24 hours and then be sanded and another coat applied. It's so humid here that it never got dry enough to be sanded. May be tonight or tomorrow. We will see. Now at least we have easy access to the rest of the food.
I installed new "O" rings to the through deck fittings yesterday for the water and diesel fittings. There were none on the port side but still on the starboard side. Now they are nice and sealed against any water that might come up and over the decks. We don't want them getting contaminated.
Well, that's about it for now. I have to get into my foul weather gear for the trip to Seattle. I'll be having several layers on so that I stay nice and warm out there.
Stay safe everyone.
